A ground fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) is a safety device that shuts off an electrical power circuit when it detects that a current is flowing along an unintended path, such as through water or a person. GFCI reset locations can be in electrical service panels and/or commonly at an outlet. The reset may be the first point of power feeding other outlets.
